About Us

Co-Founder and Chief Communications Officer of True North Ranch Lee, and her horse Bokoda have a passion to reach out to hurting kids and their families. Since 2008, they have loved on kids together, by demonstrating how to build a relationship with one another through many different activities. Lee has seen over and over again how a hours can give a child so much and the child receives healing by just playing with an animal twice their size. A safe and peaceful place was created as the foundation where broken children and families could find hope and healing.

Dan, Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer and better half, husband of Lee, and the hard workin man around the ranch. He recently has become more and more involved in being a horseman and learning how to apply his knowledge to help out with kids as well. Dan's talents of technology during the day can bring him the peace of a whole new feel when on the ranch on the weekends. He especially LOVES doing chores and picking up all the manure!

Mackinzey is Dan and Lee's daughter. She graduated from Liberty University and is presently in Richmond, VA in the police acedemy. By being a Police Officer she hopes by serving as an officer she will do more than just keep the peace, but be a witness to the True Prince of Peace. Mackinzey has been the soul trainer for both horses, and continues to use her gifts of horsemanship when she can be at the ranch.  She has a great sense of humor and kids love her! 

Mitch is the son of Dan and Lee and as much as he loves horses, he enjoys the activities much more! He enjoys being creative with the programs and giving many ideas to make it more interesting. Mitch is our Volunteer Coordinator working with visitors to give tours, as well as arranging for others to come and help at the ranch. He loves to serve where ever he can, and his love of Jesus shines with all who encounter him.  Bokoda and Nugget join him in this picture.

Scott McCall-President

I am the Executive Pastor at New Life Evangelical Free Church since March 2012 and a member since August 2001.   I am responsible for preaching and overseeing all administrative/operational aspects of the church. I also co-lead the Men’s Ministry study and teach adult Sunday school. 
My life verse is Hebrews 11:6 “For without faith it is impossible to please God. You must believe that he exists and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him”.  I am passionate about people hearing about Jesus and coming to faith in Him.

Denise McCall and Libby-Board Member
I've been married to Scott for 27 years and we have three grown sons. I've loved horses my whole life, but grew up in the city so never had one of my own until I was 40 years old. I love seeing the bond that happens when kids (of any age!) spend time with my horse. Horses have much to teach us about ourselves and the world around us. I'm excited to be a part of the ministry of True North Ranch where Jesus and horses make a big difference in the lives of young people.

Lori Olson: Secretary

Hello My name is Lori Olson. I have lived in Crosslake, MN for summers all my life. I decided to move here year rounding 1997. I have 3  beautiful children and one big dog. My passion truly is kids. I have worked with special needs children for many years. I am blessed to love on the at risk kids for TAG on a weekly basis which is part of the True North Ranch ministry. God has put each one in my life for a reason and they definitely have made my faith grow in SO many ways. Watching the kids and the horses is Jesus's love wrapping them tight as they are safe from all harm. They are loved as He first loved us.  1 John 1:9 Such an awesome picture. I am blessed to be on the board serving HIM!
